April Ross

April Ross was one of the few female beach volleyball players who have won medals in more than one Olympics. Alix klineman, who is playing for the first time at Tokyo's Olympic Games, will try to earn her third medal. But more than that, Ross will be aiming for her very first Olympic gold. Perhaps this is her only opportunity, given that she is 39 years old. The athlete is optimistic she can achieve top honors. Ross on NBC Boston, said that If the team is performing very well, or even at all, they can earn a gold. Also, it's the result of luck. Ross born in 1982 and lived within Costa Mesa California with her mother and sister, first began competing in athletics at Newport Harbor High School. Ross competed in many sports during her time at Newport Harbor High School. As a prep-athlete she was also a participant in indoor track and volleyball. Although she was a pro at indoor volleyball, it was clear that her skills were above average. When she played in her high school volleyball career in her university profile, she played as a middle-blocker, outside-hitter and setter. Gatorade Circle Of Champions named her the national Player in 1999. She also won her the Orange County Athlete of the year award for volleyball. Ross and Klineman have been performing their roles since 2017. But, Ross was a major player in the beach volleyball scene prior to the pair. She has won numerous events, one of which was with the legendary player of volleyball. Ross teamed up with Jennifer Kessy from 2007-2013, and was also Klineman's personal trainer. Together with Kessy Ross, she won an Olympic Title in 2009, while racing on the international circuit. This duo went on to win a silver at the 2012 Olympic Games at London. Misty May, Kerri Walsh and Kerri Jennings were the group to beat out for gold. Ross Jennings took over for May-Treanor after she had retired. They both won beach volleyball bronze for the Rio Olympics in the year 2016. Ross was a college player with the Trojans of USC prior to her pro career. She was a player in high school and in before hitting the beaches as a professional. Her experience at USC was impressive. In her first year at the school, 2000 was when she won the Pac-10 as well as NCAA Freshman of the Award and also be named an All-American. The Trojans were also able to make it to the Final Four. She was devastated by a tragic incident in her second year, but she managed to become an All-American once more. The two years following her she led the Trojans up the mountain and clinched consecutive national championships. She had established herself as an all-time great winning the 2003-2004 Honda Sports Award as the highest ranked female volleyball player. Ross majored at USC in International Relations. Margie Ross wasn't able to witness her daughter's climb to the beach volleyball spotlight. Margie, Ross's mother, passed away in 2001, when Ross was an USC sophomore. She had breast cancer. However, she keeps her parents close to her his heart. Margie has always been a source of inspiration to her both on and off the beach.
